Overall, I was surprised about the whole idea of the Holocaust! I was surprised to hear that there were 9 million people in the beginning of world war II and by the end over 2/3 of the people were dead! There is one thing that surprised and shocked me the most; I was surprised to hear that there were jewish children, newborn kids getting killed for no reason. Hitler, the man that was in power of Nazi Germany at the time, said that any more jews brought into the world were just another problem so they needed to be killed! I think that these people did not deserve to be killed!

Amazing Kids Series

A young girl named Alexandra Scott, came up with her own idea of helping to find a cure for the disease, Neuroblastoma(a type of cancer). Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at a very young age of 1 years old! Alex's parents got the devastating news on Alexandra's 1st birthday! Alex got the idea to raise money by starting her own lemonade stand right in her yard! She raised 1 million dollars by the time she died at the age of 8. On Alex's first time at the lemonade stand, she raised 2,000 dollars! I think it is very interesting that she was able to come up with the idea to raise money by herself to find a cure for other kids!
A teen names Rena Meteja Walker-Burr started her own foundation to help the kids she saw that didn't have all that much and weren't that wealthy. She started the (KHK) Kids Helping Kids foundation. She started in 1st grade and raised $250 with the help of no adults! I think it is interesting that Rena was very unselfish and she cared a lot about others! All of this started with her helping the Wellsprings Family Services

A school in Australia, Drummoyne Public School started the SchoolAid foundation. The SchoolAid foundation benefits all people, globally that are going through a crisis. They raise money themselves, and do fundraising, to raise money for those in a tough place in their life. They raise money to buy things like: School clothes, school books, help to provide a shelter. Drummoyne school has raised over 2.5 million dollars and counting!! They got 230,000 participants, and over 1,500 school to join in with donating money and helping to raise money for those in need. The foundation has been going on for over 10 years now!

Wonderopolis, Do your taste buds change?

I learned that there is a lot more reasons why I would believe that our taste buds do actually change over time. I am wondering why and how they change over time? What makes our taste buds change? I think that this Wonder of the Day was great! I think it was a good topic and it was actually interesting to read about!

National Writing Day

What's going on in this picture?

What’s going on in this picture? Look closely at the image above, or view it in a larger size, then tell us what you see by posting a comment. On Oct. 22, we will reveal more about the image and its origins at the bottom of this post.

In this picture it looks to me like the two men could be in a factory. This building looks long, round, and dark. In the middle of the building it looks like there is a tube with maybe fire in the middle. Maybe the men are trying to burn something that is inside the tube? There are many possibilities to what people may think this photo is, I think that the picture is of two men in a factory trying to burn something with the fire that is in the middle of the building.

Blog action day.

  • If you have faced neglect, abuse or punishment, you have the right to rehabilitative care
Abuse and neglect happens everyday all over the world. If you know someone or you are getting abused you have the right to express what is going on! In the sentence above stating, if you are experiencing neglect, abuse, or punishment you have the right to rehabilitative care. This, I agree with 100%! You should not have go through something so tragic and expect to recover from it alone. Getting rehabilitative care (help) would help you find a way out, a way to overcome the abuse, neglect, and punishment.

There are many people out there facing this. You have the right, as a human to take a stand for someone you know, or even yourself, you have the right to rehabilitative care! No one should recover from abuse, neglect, or punishment alone. There are plenty of people out there willing to help you!

Blogging Challenge 1-4

I would like to ask all the people that are visiting my blog a few questions! My main question I have is where are you guys all from? What is your school like and what are some of the things you learn there? It would be great if you guys could post a link to your blogs in the comment area! What do you think of my blog; could I improve on somethings, like what and how could I improve on it? I would also like to thank you for visiting my blog and I hope to get some answers back!

I am doing the second activity for the blogging challenge 2. This activity tells me to give 5 place in my local area (Plymouth IN) that I think visitors should see. One place is the town Museum; the museum is filled with history from Plymouth! You can see all the wildlife, past miss Americas and the runner ups (that are from the Plymouth area), important old buildings that used to be in Plymouth, but my favorite thing to see in the Museum is the train room! You can play and see all the old trains and pictures of trains from olden day Plymouth! The next place I think is interesting to see in Plymouth is all of our nature trails. You can go and walk on the nature trails and see some cool things! The third place I think the visitors of Plymouth would find interesting to see is just to walk uptown. There are cool stores and places to eat up town. Next, I think it would be cool for people visiting Plymouth to see public park! Our public park is big and it has cool things to do there. The last place I think visitors should see is Plymouth's skating rink! I have a lot of fun at the skating rink; it is a good place to go for kids and adults and you will still have fun! Plymouth is a very small town, but there are still a lot of cool, interesting things to look at and do in Plymouth!

School Life.

How is a typical everyday lunch for me? Lunch is my favorite part of the day while I'm at school!  I get to get away from all the thinking and take a break from everything! I can see most of my friends that I don't have regular classes with and at lunch we can talk about things other than school! The school lunches to me are good, most of them! What time do I usually wake up in the morning? On school days the time I get up in the morning is around 6:00 a.m. That gives me around 1 hour and 20 minutes to get ready for the school day before my school bus comes! It takes me about 5 minutes to get fully awake because usually I am really tired in the morning!

What is the hottest planet?

I had always thought that the hottest planet would be Mercury and so that would be the hottest planet. Really, I learned that I was wrong and that the real hottest planet is Venus. Mercury can get up to 700 degrees, whereas Venus can get up to 900 degrees! I thought that this website was very well made and it was well put together and I could tell that the author spent a lot of time on the article!

Boys growing into adulthood.

Societies expectations for boys as they grow into adulthood are more strict than the expectations that society has for women. I believe this because the men, in my opinion have a lot more say in society than women do. Men should learn, as they grow to mature and make big, and right choices in society! From reading the book, Lord of the Flies, I have learned that the boys are more capable than girls at any age when it comes to hunting, and fending for themselves out in nature. Men, as they grow into adulthood, should learn to make good decisions and be the more mature, man in a family.

What Does 21st Century Literacy Mean To Me?

The 21st century means that us now have the ability to learn in much faster and easier ways. The technology we have today is a lot more advanced than what there was centuries ago. We have a way to get the web to spell for us. There is also ways to make literacy much easier in the 21st century by looking up on Google to find out questions and we can get answers in seconds. The technology that there was centuries ago wasn't fast, and also may not have been reliable because there wasn't that much knowledge back then. So, today, in the 21st Century is a lot more advanced and faster than it ever used to be.

Blogging Challenge - Challenge 8

Blogging Challenge

I have many activities that I enjoy doing. I will say my top ten favorite things to do! I enjoy: Playing softball, listening to music, hanging out with my friends, going out with family, Watching movies, My favorite movie is "Remember the Titans"! I also enjoy going to church with my friends. I often like to imagine how my future will be in the future, I see myself playing collage softball and  going to collage to be a physical therapist. I also enjoy going to my cousins house to see my little

Softball is like my life. I have been around softball ever since I was a baby with my two older sisters being in it and my mother used to be in it! I started playing softball when I was about 4 years old. I play on rec league teams which only involve me staying in my hometown. I also play travel league now that involves me going around my state to play! I hope to one day go to collage to play softball on a collage team like my older sister is! Me and my father are both pitchers and the main person that taught me and my sisters everything!

I enjoy listening to music mostly because it calms me down. If I am ever in a bad mood I will go and listen to music! I like to listen to rap music and R&B music. I like artists like: Beaza, Tyga, Lil' Wayne, Justin Bieber, Hunter Hayes, etc. I will always have my iPod and earphones in my ears! I think that the main reason that music calms me down is because music is a way to express your feelings. I don't sing in front of people but I will when I'm alone because I also have to get my feeling out and it's a good way to by singing!

Hanging out with my friends is also something I love to do! I like this because it gets me away from all my worries! My friends always know how to cheer me up and if I need to get something off my chest of what I'm thinking then I can tell them. When I'm with my friends I always make new memories and I will always be laughing when I'm with them! Friends are people that I can trust a lot and they help me get through any struggles I have!

Family is a big part of my life. My family is huge; Filled with cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters and grandparents! If it weren't for my family I wouldn't be the person I am today! My friends help we when I'm down but not like my family does! Making memories with my family is very important to me because if you didn't have memories or love to share with your family then there is no purpose in having one! Going out to eat or the movies or anything with my family means a lot to me. My family does tease me and me and my sisters and parents fight A LOT, but I believe that it is all out of love. I have TONS of cousins that I can go to for anything and I have a lot of memories with all of them. I do believe that my family fights a lot more than normal families but, I know that my family is a lot closer together than normal families also. We all have each others back no matter what, if someone is picking on me or someone in my family they aren't just messing with that individual; they are messing with my WHOLE, HUGE family!

I really like to watch movies with family or even my friends! Whenever I am bored I can just go turn on a movie and it also relaxes me. I have tons of favorite movies and I have seen a lot of movies. If I really like a movie then I could watch it over and over again and it would never get old!! One of my favorite movies is "Remember the Titans". This movie is my favorite because it has a good story behind it! It's very inspirational also. It is about a football team that was very good and when they were on their way to a tournament they got in a plane crash and they all died! There were new coaches and they had to find a new team. There is a lot more to it than that. I think you all should watch the trailer on the link!

I think strongly that people should go to church. Even if you never did as a little kid, because I never did! If you have the opportunity to go then you should use it because you might learn everything that people have to offer you. Church is very important to me because if you have a good life or even a rough life then you could always overcome the obstacles. I never went to church with my family but now I am different and I go without them. I go there with my cousin and I get to learn more about God and I get to see my friends! Not only is my youth group at church fun but I learn a lot from going there!

Another one of my favorite things is to imagine me in the future as playing collage softball and going to collage to study in exercise science. I want to be a physical therapist when I grow up because I like to try to help people get back to doing the sports or anything that they love and had to give up! I decided the I wanted to be a physical therapist when my sister had to give up softball for a while when she tore her shoulder and had to get surgery on it. She had to get physical therapy to get back to playing softball. And now, because of the physical therapist that worked with her, she is now playing collage softball and perusing her dream. That is why I want to grow up to be a physical therapist!!
